ADSL & Bonded ADSL

There are 2 supplies of broadband either direct from or LLU broadband which is equipment placed in the exchanges. An LLU operator will purchase copper pairs from Openreach (the subsidiary that operates local exchanges and the copper to residential and business property) and attach the copper to their own DSLAM equipment. From
this DSLAM equipment they will utilise their own backhaul network arrangements from the local exchange as opposed to utilising the BT Wholesale Colossus network. So we provide services directly from both sources.

We provide unlimited download connections, prices from providers which are more aimed at the home user have download caps and restrictions of use and long contract periods which we have kept clear of, also they have additional costs for business use.

ADSL
BT’s IP stream we offer at 20:1 contention or 50:1 contention with a static ip address or a block of ip addresses depending on your requirement. Allow 5 days installation or migration to us.

  • S500
  • S1000
  • S2000
  • 8 megmax with speeds up to 448kbps and 882kbps for the 20:1 version upload

The LLU version ADSL2+ technology offers the same 20:1 and 50:1 contention 8 mbit with speeds up to 448kbps and 882kbps for the 20:1 version upload 24 mbit with speeds up to 1.3mbit upload on both versions.

The downside is if you have a BT adsl and wish to move across, the connection will need a cease order placed and then a new provide on the LLU version which will mean downtime. A new order on a new line will take around 10 days for installation.

Bonded ADSL
Bonded ADSL is the use of multiple Internet connections, usually of same type and speed, combined to create a single virtual conection. ADSL bonding is a complex operation with many potential pitfalls.

Moose Communications have developed advanced ADSL/SDSL bonding technology allowing multiple ADSL/SDSL lines to be bonded to create larger internet pipes.

Bonded ADSL/SDSL increases the physical upload & download capability of ADSL/SDSL. This solution can be used as a credible alternative to replace leased lines. ADSL/SDSL bonding offers increased speed, reliability, flexibility and resilience. This approach has proven to be both stable and fast to use at a far lower cost than a
leased line.

Our solution sits on the edge of your network and remains remotely managed by Moose Communications. Our bonded ADSL/SDSL solution was designed to enable organisations to make more use of ADSL technology, especially where distance limitations meant only slow ADSL speeds could be achieved.

Businesses have used ADSL/SDSL bonding where they need faster uploads and dowloads - for applications such as VOIP - bonded ADSL is ideal to upload large file sizes, at key sites where many users may be accessing IT systems or simply as a cost effective replacement for leased lines.
